Senior "Awards"

So the senior awards ceremony was last night. It was kind of a joke. I feel that most of the academic were reasonably well deserved. It was the other awards I protest. I feel that meriting awards for "High Moral Character" is complete bogus. First of all, to say you have high moral character is an arrogant statement and proves that you don't have high moral character. Second, how do you know exactly how high a person's moral character is? You know what they say about themselves and how they act, probably superficially, in school. So until you stalk the possible recipient, you have no clue who they truly are. And giving out awards based on heritage is completely unfair. I can't control that I was never Italian, so why should someone else get money because by some grace of God they are. I just feel that some scholarships are basically things people brag about. I just find it unusual. Alas, until I complain again.
