The economic stimulus is something that I was opposed to, and I oppose because of its sheer socialist undertones. The stimulus is like the No child left behind act in that on the most extreme superficial surface, it seemed like a good idea. And then you thought about it. I personally thought "Hmmm, we're giving money to large corporations to 'survive' when they couldn't do so independently. Plus we're giving money to people who are supposed to be experts at managing money because they didn't manage money properly" On top of my strong opinions, economists all over America kept say this was a terrible idea. I agree with the statement that no company is too big to fail. I say let those who have made the same mistake a million times over, perish. Its not fair that my tax money is paying for idiots to run their companies poorly. I feel that taxes should pay for what I think is important like medical research or weapons to defend our nation. I plan on entering the US Army. Why should I risk my life for a country that helps the foolish. Now to finish, I shall play on an old quote, "Whose more foolish, the fool or the fool who pays when the original fool screws up majorly?"

ReplyDeleteWho is (not whose) more foolish, the fool or the fool that follows? lolz @ obiwan. But seriously, I agree, our democracy was founded on the views of fair competition, not helping the big corporations survive. I understand the ramifications of the bankruptcy, the unemployment and the loss of a company that keeps other businesses that produce raw materials afloat, but I say, let the smaller companies with better managerial skills take over and become the next generation of big corporations.
